Review: Perfect for those who don't want to deal b****y .yaml files and bespoke configuration 😁 - I've been using Home Assistant for some time now, and to be honest in fed up with the constant updates. 6 months getting everything working for them to then update everything and bam, automations stop working, devices just vanish or stop working ..it's getting silly. So I decided to give homey pro ago ..and my god I'm so glad I did. There isn't anything I cannot do that I couldn't on HA. And the only thing I've found that isn't compatible is hive and my Reolink cameras .. which is no biggy as they are already controlled through Alexa so it's all intertwined anyway. The flows and advanced flows are easy and intuitive..pairing devices is easy ..all protocols (WiFi, ZigBee, Z-Wave, Bluetooth (BLE), Thread, 433Mhz RF, Matter, and Infrared) all in one box ..where as you would have to add a lot of these as add in dongles and so on with HA.. you also get person presence built into the app so you can trigger automations when each person comes home or leaves within a geofenced area like you can do with HA but you don't need nabu casa for it to work if you're not technically savvy It's a no brainer Love it Update: Hive does work within Homey through the homekit integration..so all good. And I believe that a Reolink app is also coming soon. So there is actually nothing that I cannot do with homey now 👍😁 If I could give this product more than 5 stars I would in a heartbeat

What makes Homey Pro stand out is its Flow automation feature, which is a simple yet powerful way to create custom automations. Even if you’re not especially tech-savvy, Flow makes it easy to build complex scenarios that work the way you want. For example, I’ve set up a flow where the lights in each room automatically adjust based on the time of day, dimming in the evenings and brightening in the mornings. If motion is detected in the hallway after dark, it turns on just enough lighting to guide the way without being too bright. All of these automations are easy to set up with Flow’s visual editor, which lets you drag and drop conditions and actions to make adjustments on the fly. And the only thing I've found that isn't compatible is hive and my Reolink cameras .. which is no biggy as they are already controlled through Alexa so it's all intertwined anyway. I’ve got smart lighting throughout the house, paired with motion sensors in key areas, and everything is seamlessly controlled through Homey. It’s one of the few hubs out there that handles multiple protocols - Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and even Infrared which means I can connect almost any smart device to it, no matter the brand. What makes Homey Pro stand out is its Flow automation feature, which is a simple yet powerful way to create custom automations. Even if you’re not especially tech-savvy, Flow makes it easy to build complex scenarios that work the way you want. For example, I’ve set up a flow where the lights in each room automatically adjust based on the time of day, dimming in the evenings and brightening in the mornings. If motion is detected in the hallway after dark, it turns on just enough lighting to guide the way without being too bright. All of these automations are easy to set up with Flow’s visual editor, which lets you drag and drop conditions and actions to make adjustments on the fly. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for home automation enthusiasts who don't have an IT degree

I had been looking for a solution to bring together the myriad of devices I have to overcome the shortcomings of creating routines in Google Home & Alexa. I had looked at Home Assistant but quickly realised that I don't have have the patience to go through the steep learning curve and was constantly frustrated with things not working despite following YouTube instructions to the letter and then I came across Homey with the YouTube videos labelling it the hub to rule them all. Anyway I started on the free cloud based option & created a couple of basic automations so started looking into it in more depth. I decided to take the plunge knowing that I could return it if it didn't perform as promised. Setup was straight forward and managed to connect most of my devices, annoyingly my Arlo cameras & the few Hive lights are not compatible (but I was aware of that before purchasing - check out compatibility of devices on their site before buying) Setting up routines or flows as Homey call then is a breeze and intuitive but it really comes into it's own when using the web app to create advanced flows to create complex routines. Is it perfect? No, no product is and did have some initial frustrations, eg, had to create a new Switch bot account (error adding if logging in via Google using the community created app but only had one device no no big deal) but the main one is that having many Aqara products they had to be imported as Matter products as M2 hub was Matter enabled & ZigBee devices are controllable with one controller only so you don't get the full capabilities so in time will need to remove from the Aqara ecosystem & into Homey. I did have an issue getting an error using an app created by the Homey makers and having contacted support they pushed out an update to the app within 24 hours to fix the issue, so very impressed, but be aware that many apps for the device are community created so support may not be available. So to conclude is it worth your money? If you're an enthusiast then yes and now that it's starting to get official Tuya support will likely offer even more value as time goes on. If Home Assistant is too daunting then yes, if Google Home & Alexa is insufficient, yes (you can use them both to trigger Homey flows). Hopefully over time it's ecosystem will expand with more officially in-house created app now that they are owned by LG, but so far so good if you don't mind it's nuances.
