It's smaller and sleeker than other jars I've seen people using at work, so it takes up less space in my lunch bag. It keeps my food warm really well too. I often only eat my lunch at 2 - 3 PM, having put it in there around 7 AM, and kept it in a pretty cold environment. This is longer than the 6 hours the manufacturer states it will keep food warm for, and I did find it was often a bit tepid by mid afternoon. However, I repurposed a cylindrical wine cooler bag to make a 'cosy' for the jar. That, together with making sure the food is absolutely piping hot, and pre-heating the jar with boiling water, gets me comfortably to the mid afternoon with hot food. I got the bigger size, because I wasn't sure the smaller one would hold a full meal. It's actually really capacious, if I fill it with soup or stew it is more than I can eat in one meal, so most days it's only half full. I probably would have been ok with the smaller size, but I do like the option of being able to put more bulky veg in there.
