The grip has a great feel, and prevents the pencil from slipping in my hands. It's also thin enough that it almost feels like there's nothing there. In terms of charging, the pencil requires direct contact with the iPad in order to charge. If you have a case that has any sort of plastic layer on top of the charging side, the pencil will become too far to reach the wireless charger on the iPad. This is no fault on the grip design, rather the physics of wireless charging. Put too many layers between the device and the charger, and the wireless magic won't reach the device anymore. So what I did was I simply used an exacto knife to cut a slot in the cover right where the grip will fall, and it works perfectly that way. I've attached images of my little hack. Not the prettiest, but it gets the job done.
