HANDY TIP: When you open it, gently poke a few holes in the foil protective cover as I like to sprinkle this not only in water but on food as well as of course we know they don't drink all that water. I hadn't seen this in quite a while (thankfully), but it always mystified me how the mites would tend to attack one bird and leave the others unscathed. After researching the issue, I learned that Vitamin A is an essential ingredient to help birds fight off scaly mites and other parasites. So I ordered this. It's great stuff - comes in a powder, and I mix it into my nearly 4-liter jug of water. Then give it to all of our birds (budgies, lovebirds, cockatiels). A couple of older budgies whom I separated are looking perkier already. They seem to like the taste of it enough to drink the water - that was one concern of mine.
