It seems well made, has a quality appearance, fits on to the lens easily but securely both ways round. An earlier review reported that he found it very tight when reversed, which mine certainly isn't, so it seems they may vary, so I'd suggest that if you get one that doesn't fit just right it may be worth returning it for another. It's rather shallow (like the Canon equivalent) because it has to cater for the 18mm end of the zoom range but it will probably help - at least in some situations. If nothing else, provides good protection for the lens against knocks. Review: A bargain and well made - This JJC lens hood is well made and fits the lens without difficulty, and of course helps shade the front element of the lens from side lighting.
