No plastic.2. Easy Installation: It took me 60 minutes from start to finish: from opening the box to recycling old fixture.3. Excellent white light. I prefer white to incandescent yellow.4. Packaging: well packaged. Unlikely to damage in shipment.Negatives1. Installation instructions are not just bad, they are wrong. Use common sense and not instructions.2. Instructions were HORRIBLE! As another reviewer said, you have to use common sense but it is probably crucial to have someone with experience installing lights. If I didn't have help from a friend, I would not have been able to do it. One more thing, it's unclear which direction the "crystals" are supposed to face. Much smaller than implied by the pictures, but I read the measurements before ordering so I wasn’t surprised.Installation was fairly easy, but there are a number of parts to put together so yet took some time. I marked it down one star for the moderate installation but also because the way it is made you can’t turn it certain directions during he install.
