Theses are made of a stiff silicone like material. They have just enough flex so that they fit in snuggly into empty ports. They do not fall out. I have them in a switch mounted high on a wall with the ports facing down, and these covers stay put, even upside down. The circular nub makes them easy to grab and remove, or insert. Even if there are cables in the ports to the left, right, and below the empty port. Many of the competitor covers are flat against the face of the port when inserted, lacking the "handle" nub these have. And while one might argue those flat ones look nicer, they can be a real pain to remove, even when not surrounded by cables of in use neighboring ports. And they are nearly impossible to remove when all the ports around them are in use, especially if you have big hands. Same if you are trying to install those flat ones.
