There are some things I would change though but, that's purely just my opinion. The box is pretty hearty but, the latches are pretty flush with the box as I'm sure is to prevent accidental opening which could be an issue if you don't have long enough finger nails or something to get under the latches. The kit is tightly packed and pretty much popped open when opened the last latch. Inside the box was everything as pictured. Some of the items are purely redundant and I would substitute them for something else.The small knife with the sawback is one of those things I would substitute. I would substitute that for a small plier type multitool that has a fine edge and serrated blade. If I didn't need/want a multi-tool with pliers I would put a Swiss army knife style multi-tool in there instead.The credit card multi-tool I would replace with a signal mirror. The paracord bracelet is near perfect. If only I could add a watch face to it. It has a ferro rod with a striker, a whistle, and a compass it just needs a watch. This alone can replace of few things if you are going for the minimalist approach.  The brass whistle is obnoxiously loud which is good but, like I mentioned earlier is redundant as the paracord bracelet has one already however, it's small enough that I would keep it as my primary whistle.The carabiner type compass is a keeper. Even though the bracelet has one already the carabiner type is of better quality and has a thermometer on the other side. It's no military lensatic compass but, it will do the job. The ferro rod that is included is a fairly large and can make loads of sparks. I would keep it as my primary firestarter. The folding knife is pretty sharp with a carabiner type lockback nothing special , but essential. The flashlight is pretty bright and has an adjustable beam. It takes 1 AA battery. If you look inside the battery compartment looks like it will be too big for it but, I tried it. 1 AA is all you need. I would put one extra battery or two if it will fit.The pen is one of those tactical kubaton pens with a glass breaker. I'm pretty sure it takes a Parkers pen cartridge. Not bad for when you need to write something or need an alternative defensive weapon. I would keep it to take notes for navigation. I would take the foam out of the kit to fit a small note pad. The emergency blanket is nothing special but, convenient if you can't find or make your own shelter. An very inexpensive to replace.I hope you found this review informative. Thanks for reading. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sturdy storage box *by P***. on June 7, 2018* The carrying case seems durable enough and won't accidentally open any time soon - the locking clasps are effective to the point that its hard enough for me to open by hand.
