I had about two dozen pencils to sharpen when it arrived, of all different kinds. What I noticed right off the bat was that it worked for some pencils, and not for others (all the same size). Maybe it had to do with the quality of the wood? It would revolve for certain pencils and not others.Secondly, I noticed that even the pencils it DID work on, some of them came out with sharp points.... and some of them came out with points where the wood was only sharpened on one side (so the tip is covered in wood, making it unusable unless you chip the wood away yourself). So that's poor quality of sharpening.Then, a week later, the hole for sharpening normal-sized pencils stopped working completely, and now only the big hole works. And still not very well.I've tried with both batteries and plugging in, I've tried cleaning it out, nothing seems to help. I really like that it has the option of being battery operated to plug it in or to plug it in with a USB. I do wish to have the option of plugging it into the wall though. But it is nice that I can carry it around because it is battery operated as well. I have been using it now and it works great on an even comes with two other replacement sharpeners in the event that the other sharpeners go out which is really nice.
