## Features

- Beeswax Food Wraps from etee are just as easy to use as plastic wraps, just with less trash. Completely reusable, they'll keep your food fresh and tasty for days and weeks at a time. They are heat sensitive, so to cook using a sous vide, microwave, and similar, it's best if you choose another option.
- etee beeswax wraps are designed specifically for food storage. The waxed cotton is thin, pliable, and sticky, so they're ideal for wrapping sandwiches, making little snack pouches, and sealing open tops of containers like bowls, casserole dishes, or even plastic and glass storage ware that's lost their lids. All you have to do is unfold the wrap, stretch it around the food or container, and it will seal to itself, keeping food as safe as ziptop baggies.
- Easy to clean! For good preservation, hand wash in cold water using an ethanol-free detergent. Allow to dry hanging like regular laundry. You can even towel dry and use damp if you need to pack a lunch right away. For long term storage, fold these sturdy wraps and put in a bin until they're needed again.
- Each pack contains a variety of three wraps, one of each size: teal (7" x 8"), green (10" x 11"), and blue (12" x 14"). You can buy anywhere from 1 up to 12 packs, for a total of 36 individual alternatives to storage bags! Whether you're stashing a roll cake for tomorrow's bake sale, or covering a metal tray of loose fruit to freeze, this bundle of packaging goes the extra mile to keep your food fresh from freezer to fork.
- etee wraps are BPA free, and made from a host of sustainable ingredients, such as coniferous tree resins, clove and cinnamon essential oils, and jojoba oil. Main materials are organic cotton, organic beeswax, and non-GMO soy wax. Fully compostable. Depending on the kind of food, there may be a transfer of color or dye. This is purely cosmetic and won't harm eaters in any way.

*Independent review with no discounts or freebies given. Results are based on a month worth of use. These fabulous wraps were purchased out of sheer “lid rage”. I want to say it’s purely out of my love for the planet, but it’s 50/50 Earth love and insanity over stolen pieces of plastic (thieving toddlers). Thankfully, even right out of the box, these wraps do the job quite well - from sealing bottle tops to holding 1.5 lbs. of Orbeez slush in, even turned upside-down and shaken!- TRUTH IN ADVERTISING: Product specs are accurate in terms of measurement.- TEXTURE: Texture reflects the hemp/cotton/beeswax ingredients and sounds a little like sandpaper when they touch each other. They are very malleable and will soften with use but surprised me with how rigid they were out of the box. Despite not being “activated”, the little blue one actually conformed to the bottle right away (see video). They DO leave a residue on your hands the first 10 washes or so. I’ve washed them about 20 times so far and there’s still a bit of gunk but nothing too annoying.- SMELL: I was anticipating a smell due to the essential oils, jojoba, and resins, but they really just smell like wax with a hint of clover and don’t pass it on to the food or liquid.- EFFECTIVENESS: As you can see from the video, they were effective right out of the box. They contain liquids, solids, gels, and will wrap up into a little ball for trail mixes, berries, etc. I wouldn’t wrap chips or anything delicate in the wrap alone, but they seal effectively, especially when you use them properly! *See notes below on that...I didn’t follow protocol. Whoops!- STORAGE LENGTH: As a little experiment (because I apparently have too much time on my hands) I cut up some apples with a metal knife to purposefully introduce some oxidation. Stored 1/4 the apple in the blue wrap with plenty of extra coverage (and this was right after the orbeez video so it hadn’t touched other food) another 1/4 in a freshly washed Rubbermaid plastic storage container, the other 1/4 in a plastic dish with cling wrap, and the final portion just on the shelf. After 5 days in the refrigerator, completely untouched, the wrapped apples were slightly turning brown and starting to curl on the edges while the plastic container experienced just slight browning with very little contraction. Cling wrapped were just as brown as the wrap, and the shelf apples were curling, all brown, and inedible. After 10 days, I wouldn’t eat any of them, but the apple slices in the wrap were significantly drier and more oxidized than the Rubbermaid container, the cling wrapped ones were wet and completely brown, and I’d had to remove the shelf apples by day 7 because they were leaking and gross. Now, this may sound like a negative but I hope it isn’t taken that way. There was obviously more gas exchange possible with the wrap and they don’t claim that they are air-tight, but that also means they won’t retain nasty moisture that leads to spoiling. What this does prove, however, is that the wraps WILL keep your food safe for a reasonable amount of time (no one eats over-a-week-old apples from the fridge I hope) and you don’t have to worry about chemicals leaching into your food.Tips from an organic food wrap newbie:1. Watch the video below item description or go to the website provided on the info card enclosed! I didn’t pay attention to the “activation” process - as you can see in the video - so the first time I tried to seal the green wrap over glass it didn’t stick at all. Bunch it up in your hand really well to transfer heat and get the wax to melt a little, then use. You’ll have to do this every time you use them too but it only takes a second.2. Listen to the instructions about washing with cold water! I admit I have used warm water because I couldn’t get the smell of radishes out, but of course, it lost some of its “waxiness”. It still works, and I anticipate them lasting quite a while, but do heed the instructions!3. Make sure they are DRY before storing! I didn’t have an ideal place to hang dry them (what with the aforementioned thieves living here) and ended up folding and putting them away too soon. This resulted in a tiny bit of mold growth. Thankfully, the wax seemed to have kept it out of the fibers so it washed right off.Overall I am VERY pleased with these wraps and will be purchasing more. Even my husband was impressed and he doesn’t care about this stuff. Gone are the days of useless “cling” wrap filled with low-density polyethylene (LDPE) or polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC) that don’t even stick — in spite of curses and physical threats! You can stop wrestling with non-biodegradable film, feel better about saving the planet, and protect your food at the same time. 🤗Hope this was helpful! And for more geek trivia, see below on the fun chemicals in old and new cling wraps:If you’re over 25 like me you remember when Saran Wrap was all there was, and it actually STUCK without the use of rubber bands or tape. That was because it contained polyvinyl chloride (PVC) which contained phthalates and plasticizers to make it stretchy. We don’t like phthalates. They cause hormonal disruption, proven not only by small studies, but also massive investigations like the one at the link below my nerd-rant here. As of 2006, the U.S. stopped including these chemicals for obvious reasons, but now these wraps contain low-density polyethylene (LDPE) or polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC). This is still problematic because LDPE may contain diethylhexyl adipate (DEHA), which is another potential endocrine disruptor, linked to breast cancer in women and low sperm count for the guys! On top of that concern, you may have noticed it doesn’t stick nearly as well as it used to. It’s still a no-win situation. Especially since manufacturers aren’t obligated to state ingredients on the box. So, save yourself some worry and frustration and just buy wax wraps like these!

    These work great! Buying more.

*by S***Z on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on February 24, 2018*

These work beautifully! I like them better for produce, sandwiches, and anything else that is loose and tends to fall apart if not tightly wrapped. I like them MUCH better for covering bowls, too: much less fiddling around with plastic or aluminum foil to get it tight, because these wraps stick to themselves much better than plastic, and they hold better than foil. Easy to clean, easy to use.In fact, for some items they are better than the modern choices: cheese, for instance, lasts longer and keeps its consistency better when NOT wrapped in plastic or aluminum foil. But using the recommended cheese paper is more expensive and require tape. These wraps are PERFECT for that use! As for some other comments that mention a smell: there is a pleasant "woodsy" scent, but nothing strong, unpleasant, or overpowering. It does not transfer to food and I only smell it when I'm in the process of putting the wraps around food; once it's in the fridge, I don't smell it at all, though I wouldn't mind if I did.UPDATE 04/03/2018: Still very pleased--adding a picture of an avocado I cut the day before. This was the first time I'd used these wraps for an avocado. You know how it is: you don't need all of it and dink around to get the plastic wrap just right so no air reaches the avocado and turns it brown. You also put a little lemon juice on to aid with the browning. Sometimes it's a struggle, and sometimes, no matter what you do, you end up with at least a little browning. But these wraps MORPH--when you wrap them around a shape, they stay in that shape and then you just twist-scrunch the ends to tighten. No lemon juice. No dinking around. Just fast, easy, and the below picture shows what the avocado looked like just now when I pulled it out of the fridge when I made my sandwich. I continue to be very pleased!
