Install/usage instructions to install/use, etc. are not that great, got to say, and can be described as reasonably acceptable. I've not tried this WD device in a playstation as I have it installed within a PC. However, I installed a WD a green version in a PS4 and it been working fine. Do not format it, but you do need to reinstall the PS4 IOS from the Playstation store, first, so you need a valid PS subscription. Beware: SSD's are more prone to failing than Hard disks (HHD) and harder to recover data from. So if you are concerned over keeping your config, score data, then use a HDD. I had a one WD Blue fail on me after 5months of installing it.
