I don't try to match rods and reels by color, but rather by need. **Q: What size would be the most ideal for salmon and steelhead?** A: The size 2000 would be fine; however, this reel's gear ratio is too slow for river fishing. I'd suggest the Valiant Eagle series in size 2000. The Valiant Eagle series has a much faster gear ratio; therefore, it is more suitable for river fishing in my experience. **Q: Can I switch handle sides?** A: Yes **Q: I noticed the blue one (spindrift) has a higher line capacity and is IPX5 waterproof over the green one.
