I returned mine and bought this one, which is much better, The Rock Reversible Grill/Griddle. It's about $20 at Costco and about $30 other places. Trust me, it is awesome and locks in on my gas stovetop so it doesn't move around. I use it 4-5 times a week and it is worth every penny. **Q: Does this come with the handle attached or do you need to assemble? If so, is it easy to attach?** A: It comes with the handle not attached. It was easy to attach, including directions, extra screws and screwdriver. I got it on quickly and easily. I am comparing this to a different brand i got first with nonattached handle, it didn't have any directions, despite having a little information booklet, it just said "you have to attach this yourself" under directions. It was hard because at first i had to turn the screw for a long time and i wondered if i was doing something wrong or if it was the wrong screw. Finally it began to tighten so i tightened it carefully, avoiding stripping the screw, and when i finished, it was attached and it wasn't completely tight. It did not shake, it seemed to be tightened because it was firm, but it made a rattling noise when i moved it and handled it. Annoying. That one had a couple of other cleaning related problems so i got this one to give it another try and no problems at all. i've been using it only a few times so we'll see but i like it. **Q: Does this dethaw meat?** A: Meat should be thawed before cooking to get a better even cooking. But I do put frozen burger Patty's on my griddle and they don't stick. I beieve it also says it can tolerate heat up to 575 degrees F.
