The objective was to secure a 70” opening from a hallway into our living room. It is the perfect height/width. We have six German Shepherd Dogs. The majority averaging 90 pounds.Installation took roughly 20 minutes. A level is not a necessity. But we would recommend it. One could probably install it in 10 minutes, if your not using a level to check/double check placement of the hardware. The process is fast, with only basic tools required. We chose a screw gun. Although hand tools would have been just fine.We have been using it (pleasantly) for about a month. None of our dogs have “jumped” over, or crawled under the gate. Unfortunately with most of the other gates we’ve purchased, including 48” tall metal gates, our dogs have jumped over, or eventually “broken through! So far, so good, with this one! They haven’t even tried.The locking mechanism is easy to use. When not in use, the gate neatly & discretely tucks away. The fact that you can see through the mesh, allows light to flow into the hallway.
