## Overview

The IMS Big Bang Precision Filter Basket is a high-performance espresso accessory designed for Breville and Sage 54mm bottomless portafilters. Featuring 585 holes concentrated towards the center, it ensures uniform extraction and minimizes channeling, enhancing the coffee's sweetness. Compatible with 16-21g doses and crafted in Italy by IMS, it fits popular Breville models like Barista Pro, Bambino, and Barista Touch.

## Description

The latest innovation from IMS. Holes are distributed towards the center to direct the flow of espresso. There are more holes in the center and they have less disctance between them. This pattern is specifically designed for bottomless portafilters. The basket has flat bottom. Available in 3 heights with different capacities according to the type of coffee used. For 53-53.5mm tampers. Ridgeless. The main characteristics we found out the BIG BANG filters emphasis was the SWEETNESS. The extraction is very uniform , it exalts the sweetness and reduces the acidity. We don’t suggest to use the BIG BANG filter baskets with citric (light) coffees since they sweetened espresso and modify characteristics.

Review: More holes - This is most definitely a better basket than the stock Sage one. However as the basket is wider and has more holes which was the point in buying it. Now my coffee flows much quicker than through the Sage basket and I need to get used to that. But, the coffee tastes great so… Overall I like it.
Review: 5⭐️ - I was surprised about this. I've only just gotten into the whole espresso thing, and what a black hole it is, lol! I was using the Bambino Plus basket. I thought I'd change, so with the same coffee beans, grind, and flow rate, the flavor was completely different in a good way. I'm no expert, but by heck, it made a massive difference. Now I'm coming from a stock basket to this basket. Coming from a high-quality basket to this basket, I can't comment if you would see a difference. For me it's a 5⭐️ review 👍

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quality Upgrade!
*by J***H on 12 February 2026*

Nice upgrade to the stock Barista Express basket, I have the 23.5 and 25.5 versions, 23.5 is closer to stock, 25.5 takes about a 20g load, a lot more consistent in back to back shots for me but I imagine experience may vary on the off chance your stock basket came perfect out the box.
