In a foolish pursuit of sustainability, Apple has chosen to no longer offer leather iPhone cases. Instead, the premium offering is this "Fine Woven" case which started coming apart only a few weeks after I purchased it, despite having a very nice feeling (specifically the texture of the back) and appearance. What is the point of using more sustainable materials if the end product is less durable and needs to be replaced more often? I contacted Apple to initiate a warranty claim roughly a month and a half after purchasing the case. It was denied on the grounds that the defects in the photos I submitted were instead regular wear and tear. For as long as Apple has offered a leather case, dating back to the iPhone 5, I have used approximately two of them over the life of the phone which is approximately 2–3 years. This case started coming apart after only a few weeks, and will likely be completely falling apart in less than six months. Something else to note is that I believe the case is responsible for a number of small nicks present in the titanium forming the buttons and the area that surrounds them on the sides of the my iPhone 15 Pro. It is quite protective and feels smooth and nice to the touch. The scratches will be noticeable but that's what a case is for, take the hit on behalf of the phone.
