Let me say it again, not rusty! Some buyers complained of a few things and I had to laugh. One, that they were rusty. Well, while mine were NOT RUSTY they were powder-coat painted brown for an antique look and some of the paint rubbed off onto the bag. I am ok with that. This didn't leave bare metal showing, it's just residue. They were even lightly oiled. I've never known steel to rust under oil, so someone isn't paying attention. The other complaint was the silver-looking concho and other ornaments were only on the outside. Well, while I feel sorry that some adult costume parties were spoiled, I'm wearing these for work and I'm glad they are slick on the inside so they don't fetch up on tack or the horse! They'd likely be covered in ripped off hair if they had decorations all over the inside. Weaver makes good stuff and these are right along with it! I also saw the comment that to make them ring you need to take off the little weight on the rowel wheel (not dowel, rowel). I don't get that at all, the jingle bob (the little weight) is supposed to clang against the rowel to make it ring. I love these exactly as they are and I think it's a bit silly that all these complaints arise from some sort of misinformation or lack of forethought. If you want a good set of jingle bob spurs to go with some good boots, then get these, they fit the bill.
