The rod comes in hard shell carry case which is perfect for air travel. Unfortunately the rod snapped midway through the trip. It was my fault though. Upon returning to NY, I contacted Okuma CS and they were able to send me a new rod 100% free! I only had to pay for the shipping of the broken rod. This is really more of a review about Okuma rather than the rod itself. I will say that the rod has great action, the grips and reel seat feel very secure. It is nice and light and very sensitive. This Okuma Rod I bought is 6'6" spinning rod that fits what I was looking for with the case only 24 inches long. It is a nice looking rod, 4 pieces because of handle even though it says 3 piece , very light and balances well with a Pflueger President 6930. The case is good quality and the Rod piece are wrapped in a nice rod soft sock with 4 separate slots keeping the pieces protected.
