It works very well to keep ants from climbing the pole where I keep my hummingbird feeder. Actually, they climb until they get to the product. All you do is make a ring around the pole itself. If there is a hard rain, I do check it. It is a decent value versus having to clean out the hummingbird feeder to rid the ants swimming in it.
