The damage is vested not only on the spouse, but also the children. The narcissist sees all through special filters,.......ALL is about themselves and their wants and needs!It is a book about people, men and women that have narcissistic personality disorder..and the pain and abuse that they leave in their wake after a relationship ends..They are charmers, charismatic, manipulators, and liars. They behave as if the children are extensions of themselves. How could a child possibly need glasses? The narcissist never had glasses. They rarely cooperate with any parenting plan, support payments or visitation. Many times they try to alienate the other parent by bad mouthing them to the child. Then, when the child refuses to participate in this action the narcissist says the other parent is trying to alienate THEM!They dupe therapists, custody evaluators, lawyers, and judges and tie up courts needlessly.You will learn how "The Best Interests Of The Child"are NOT met.Because of an antiquated family court system that stands on the belief thatparenting time should remain equal, courts do not readily change parenting times. or custody.....and in most States, children are not even allowed to make known what they want.This is a wonderful book of survival!"Tina Swithin", The author, has written a book that helps people to understand what HAS and IS happening to them. If I had read this and known that Narcissists existed, I would have saved YEARS of heartache, over $15K in legal costs (and counting) and never have married my alcoholic narcissistic a hole of an ex. I am currently going through the divorce with mine and this book was very enlightening. It was a "a ha" moment where all my thoughts and experiences I had living in the shadows of a narc were confirmed.......that I wasn't crazy. And that my ex isn't the only person in the world. It feels like you are crazy, that there's no way someone could twist your words, justify their actions and prove over and over to be a narcissist void of any feelings, any remorse, any sense of morality, etc. this book, along w/ counseling, has been a life saver. It helps me to deal w/ my narc in NO CONTACT. NO RESPONSE. Because that only fuels their response. AND THEY WILL DO IT AGAIN WITH HIS NEW SUPPLY (which in true narc form he lined up before he disposed of me). If you THINK you are married to one, you probably are. Read this, save a life. If you've been with anyone with NPD (narcissistic personality disorder) or just think they might be someone with NPD: YOU NEED HELP! Divorce puts everyone involved in a fog and you CAN NOT afford to be in a fog with that "special someone". YOUR KIDS LIVES are at stake, their safety, emotional stability and security, their future spouses- it's up to YOU to get them as safe as you possibly can and the courts and Social Services just don't get what you're going through- they're overburdened and sadly, most just want your case to be done. Since Tina went pro se (no divorce attorney) most of the time, she knows the ins and outs and actually faced off with a judge who ignored her STBX's (soon to be exes) lies! I Cheered outloud! I know you're tired, burnt out and just ready to be done but read this book first. If someone you're married to is willing to treat you like dirt, your kids like pawns during your marriage- it's going to be a helluva battle to divorce them and you have support with these books as well as Tina's website and face book page. Google One Mom's Battle- ask questions, don't give up and know that God loves you and loathes what has happened to you. He wants you and your kids to be safe but you have to help Him out! RESEARCH! I also recommend Cindy Burrells books "why is he so mean to me" and "God is My Witness- making a case for biblical divorce".
