The clay beads are warm enough after one min even in our low watt microwave. I very much prefer the removable clay pouch over the warmies brand where the whole stuffie has to go in the microwave. The warmies brand stuffies start to smell god awful after being microwaved so many times due to the lavender and flaxseed in it. Which is another reason why I went to this unscented one! This brand of microwave stuffies is already a hit at our house. My 8yr old can take care of it himself. It is very effective, he likes that it has a little weight to it. He also likes that there are no poking lavender seeds coming out like the other brands. We love this cute green axolotl and its size is perfect! Very comparable to the warmies brand for size!
