Then you need to replace the rim with a new one. For minor damage, for example the classic curb patches and scratches, our Alu-Fix is very suitable. 1. First clean the aluminium or steel rim with a standard rim cleaner. Work best on your vehicle outdoors in the shade. Rinse well with water and let the rim dry well. 2. Then smooth out any bumps in the damaged area and remove all dirt or dirt inclusions with the rough side of the coarse sandpaper. Please cover the edge areas with the masking tape so that you do not scratch the rim. 3. Sand the area with the enclosed fine water sandpaper. Then clean the repair area well with the alcohol cleaning cloth and then dry well with a soft cloth. 4. Now remove the closure of the double chamber cartridge with scissors and press the required amount of repair mass, the so-called Rim Kitt powerfully out into a suitable container, for example in the packaging of our ALU-FIX. Then replace the lid on the double chamber cartridge so that you can reuse the rim kitt for the next repair. Now mix the two components well with the plastic spatula until they turn into a grey mass. 5. Fill the rim putty with the plastic spatula into the damage and easily overfill it. Not too much, as you have to sand everything away afterwards. Proceed as quickly as the rim putty after approx. 4-6 minutes, depending on temperature and humidity. 6. Now let the rim putty for approx. 1 hour. And this is how it goes on part 2. 7. Compare the hard rim putty with the coarse and fine sandpaper to the contours of the rim. Grind diligently and just down to make it look as good as possible afterwards. Please cover the edge areas with the masking tape beforehand so that you do not scratch the rim. 8. Now clean the ready-polished rim putty with the alcohol cleaning cloth and dry the area with a clean, soft cloth. 9. Apply the silver rim lacquer/aluminium silver metallic paint pen, with the built-in brush thinly and evenly on the rim cutty/repair site. If the rim paint does not match the colour of your rim, then please get a suitable varnish from a specialist retailer, e.g. in the colour black or in a different silver colour. Very small damage can be repaired by simply applying the rim paint directly over without rim kit. 10. Leave the paint for approx. 1-2 hours before putting your vehicle back into operation.
