I would suggest soaking the amount you are going to feed in a glass of water (10-15minutes) before feeding it to your fish. This helps to prevent buoyancy problems. **Q: Can these be fed to pond goldfish?** A: Yes you can it’s the best for goldfish it sinks **Q: Anyone order this recently from Amazon and can confirm that MSG has been removed from ingredient list?** A: I noticed the inclusion of MSG when I first stared feeding this food a couple of years past. Didn't bother me they immediately thrived... both in size/color. Just pulled a bag out from the refrigerator w/ expiration 2015.08. This batch DOES NOT have MSG as an ingredient **Q: This fleet food or sinks** A: It does both. Some of the pellets sink right away and some float for a bit before sinking. A tip; soak the pellets in water (from your aquarium) for a few minutes first. Then all of the pellets sink fast and its healthier for your fish. I've been feeding this food to my goldfish for years. They are big, healthy with great color and since I've been soaking the food before feeding, never a problem with air in their swim bladders (causing the fish to float). I had heard that this was the best goldfish food out there, and I really adore my water babies, so I invested in a bag. It is a bit more expensive than the little containers of fish food at the pet stores, but the bag is MUCH larger and the quality is so much greater. My goldfish have both grown since I started them on Saki Hikari. They are Black Moor goldfish, and their black has become deeper...my boy who had a couple of orange spots on him is now full black again. I soak the pellets in a little bit of tank water for maybe a minute before feeding, which makes them sink right to the bottom for my fish to gobble up. I've had this bag for a few months now and there is still so much more left...this was a great investment, both financially and in the health and happiness of my fish.
