Standing on concrete floors waiting in the store line or walking around grocery shopping? The cushion insoles are comfortable and feet feel good. Walking the dog? Grass, gravel, and a romp on a creek trail is not a problem. My bad ankle feels supported by the upper material. They haven’t slipped when crossing over rocks in the creeks. They don’t feel too heavyweight but not as lightweight as you’d find with goretex waterproof styles. Waterproofness has been tested and my feet have remained dry walking in the rain or through wet grass and small puddles. Should your pup decide to go for a swim and pull you off balance into a pond and the shoes are submerged, then they are not waterproof. Insoles are removable and the mud cleaned off easily. The shoes also seem to tend to angle your ankles inward, though that may just be my own ankles as I have that in other shoes sometimes as well. The shoes offer good traction on terrain, but I've found them to have very poor traction on wet floors. You can easily slide around on a wet floor as if you were wearing ice skates. But otherwise, the traction is good.
