**Q: are these fermented?**
A: Yes they are

**Q: Does it have English instructions in it**
A: I’m not sure, as I no longer have the packet. I used them all as they were so delicious. You don’t really need instructions though, you can just add the black beans as they are to a stir fry or something. Hope this helps!

**Q: Are they re-hydrated?**
A: The beans are salty and moist. I use a handful soaked in water for half an hour. They really add to stirfrys etc. Have 2 lots from this seller.

**Q: Are these the same as "douchi"?**

The picture is wrong they do not have 0.2g salt but 12g salt per 100g They can be used to add salty savoury flavour like soya sauce does However, I didn't find they had that much flavour
