A: It simply open in one direction and you flip it to use. It’s very sturdy and can be placed over rocks for cooking needs.

A: I’d say a couple of pounds at most. 
 You should be able to cook plenty of food on it

A: Roughly 4oz

**Q: is the 6x6 in grill strong enough to support a pot with at least a pint of liquid positioned just on the wire grid and not the outer steel frame?**
A: Yes, no problem. used a Stanley Adventure Camp cookpot filled with 20 oz of water to boil for coffee and meals.
