**Q: Are these connectors lead-free?**
A: Fyi, In 2011, Congress enacted the Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act, which amended guidelines set in place by the Safe Drinking Water Act of 1974. As of 2014, brass fittings must now contain less than 0.25% lead, rather than 8%. The purpose of this change is to protect consumers from harmful contamination. Anything below that 0.25% threshold can legally be labeled as lead free brass fittings under the new standards.

**Q: What is the diameter of the ball valve / how bad is the restriction / pressure drop**
A: Ball valve orifice is 0.03 in. shy of 3/8.

**Q: Is this suitable for potable water systems?**
A: In my opinion, this is intended for outdoor hoses.  I wonder if the coating meets drinking standards, so I cannot recommend for potable use.   Check with the manufacturer.

Best thing I bought in a long time! No more dragging the hose from the front yard to the back and vice versa. You can use the valves to shut off the water supply for either one. Very sturdy, made of brass, and does not leak. Just screws on to the outdoor tap. You just have to buy another hose but it can be shorter. Why didn’t I do this years ago? Carole R.
