Yes, this can be used without a wand like a ordinary aerosol spray can. **Q: Can it be used on a warm item like a transmission?** A: This is a wax type substance that I used to seal the door cavity in my Chevelle. I would not recommend using this product on parts that get hot for extended periods of time i.e. transmissions and engines **Q: Would this work to stop rust. Inside of rocker panels or slow it down?** A: It wont stop pre existing rust but may slow it down somewhat.
