The others are: Burma Shave and No visitors. This one [like the other two] doesn't leap out at you, it is just a laid back jazz quartet, apart from the fact that Tom Waits is at the helm, and of course that makes all the difference. What I mean is that it is from the era before Swordfish or Raindogs and is therefore less in your face,if those are the right words. So,having established what it isn't, I will move swiftly on to what it is! As I say they are a four piece: Sax, Upright Bass, Drums [naturally] and Tom sometimes stood at the mike, step right up, pasties and a G string,small change [at the end] and probably a couple of others, the rest with him at the piano. The band are tight and they play the whole set straight through, without any banter in between but remember this is for television, German television at that. The stand out tracks are: Depot Depot and fumblin with the blues, although it is a great set altogether. Tom introduces the band members towards the end with each of them doing a solo as you might expect. They finish with Tom Trauberts Blues bringing the set to nearly 80 Mins. If my copy was a borrowed copy I would order one for myself, if that makes any sense!
