We've been having issues with our dog getting into cabinets, but I don't want to shock him. I love that this collar has a vibrate option. Right away, my dog didn't like it. But I felt it on myself and it isn't painful at all. It's just an uncomfortable sensation. Before long, my dog was just staying out of the kitchen entirely. I was showing him the remote, and he'd just KNOW.The collar is easy to adjust and put on. The remote is fairly easy to figure out. You get a charger that charges both at the same time, which I LOVE! I like that there are multiple uses. There's even a beeping sound that I never would have thought to use, but sometimes works.My only complaint is that after using this for a few weeks, my dog seems to have "adjusted" to the vibration. It doesn't bother him as much and he's kind of reverting to old behavior. I think we only ever had to actually ‘shock’ him twice, and that was on level 7 for an 85 lb dog. I would never recommend going any higher than that. Start at the lowest level possible and work your way slowly until they can just begin to associate it with bad behavior. Otherwise, the vibrate function worked like magic and our doggie quickly adapted to that. He’s like a brand pup! Always remember to say “NO” when using the collar simultaneously to control unwanted behavior. Or whatever other commands you are trying to teach him/her.
