Some reviews say NO.** A: I have 4 of these pillowcases that I ordered in the past that WERE silk. I just ordered two more, and they are NOT silk. They look and feel like polyester. I cut a piece from the inside to do a burn test, and it went up in flames, burning all the way down to a hard plasticky nub. Real silk stops burning when removed from flame, and the burned parts are easily crumbled into a powder. **Q: Is this pillowcase healthy for African American hair?** A: Absolutely!!!
