I would keep extras! **Q: I have a 5 gallons portable camping toilet. Can i break the packet and use just a small amout of it?** A: Yes you can dissolve in in a 1 gallon container and you just use a couple ounces in your 5 gallon bucket **Q: How long does it takes to breakdown waste and tissue?** A: Mostly I use it for odor control to keep down the stink. It starts to work as soon as it is put in the tank. Remember you will empty your tanks every few days depending on the size of your tank. I always flush my tank with fresh water when I empty black water tank, and then refill it with about 5 or 6 gallons of fresh water and add another Porta-Pak tablet. You never want your black water tank to dry out because there will always be some waste left in the tank.
