This is the original Mityvac hand vacuum pump kit used by service professionals worldwide for performing hundreds of automotive diagnostic and mechanical tests and for one-person brake bleeding. The MV8000 kit contains our most popular Selectline hand vacuum pump with vacuum gauge and accessories. Durable and sturdy material offers longevity.

Review: Clean and easy for bleeding motorcycle brake and clutch lines. - This was the first time I have ever bleed motorcycle brake and clutch lines. It is a little bit "awkward" to hold the adaptor end on the bleed valve and use the pump at the same time BUT does the job perfectly. I was quoted £50-60 for a garage to bleed one motor bike. It has paid for it's self already. Pro's: 1. Easy to read multi angle pressure dial. 2. Easy to operate pressure release valve. 3. Loads of pipe and adaptors for other engine jobs. 4. Goes back in the box easily for storage and protection. Cons: 1. Made of plastic, so I treated it with a little more of a domestic tool, than a mechanic's everyday tool. But still works perfectly with no signs of wear. If it breaks I will get a metal one.

**Q: Could I also use this (with a longer hose) to siphon the gas out of my broke down car, so that I can put in my new car?**
A: I wouldn't.  Two reasons: One, this pump moves a small volume of fluid.  Good for bleeding brakes but moving gallons would take a long time and you would have to empty the small container many times.  Two, the tubing and container are all plastic and I'm not sure if they would react with gasoline or not.  Plus, there would be a lot of combustible fumes escaping.  Could be dangerous.Modern gas doesn't last long without stabilizers in it, so if it has been in the car long, it isn't worth recovering.  If you have to, marine supply stores have rubber bulbs for priming fuel lines.  They can be used to safely start a fuel siphon.

**Q: Does it come with a case or something to store it in?**
A: It comes in a plastic tray, it can be stored in the tray. If I were going to frequently use the tester I would buy a storage case.

**Q: I'm using this to make water boil, would this vacuum pump be sufficient enough to get the pressure low enough?**
A: This pump will max out at 25" Hg, that will get the boiling point down to 130 F.
If you can get the vacuum down to 28" Hg, water will boil at about 80 F.
Altitude and water purity will affect those numbers.

Search for "Hand Boiler" to find those blown glass learning toys. They boil at body temp and are kinda cool.

**Q: Can this be also used to generate pressure for tests?**
A: Yes. The kit comes with a very detailed booklet on how to run different tests.

a quality product. Only problem I found was difficult to get the necessary "seal" for it to work. eventually had to revert to the old method of bleeding the brakes on motorbike...but more due to my lack of skill than the product.
