Up here in the PNW we rarely get ice / snow. I had tried some of the kind that are springs across the shoe and they did work but, they were very hard to walk with when you were not on snow and ice. These things as soon as I tried the first pair were great. They not only keep you from slipping on ice or snow but when you walk and are off area's that are not ice or snow they don't make you feel like you are going to slip. They are SUPER easy to slip on and off shoes. Going to store it was quick to pop them off and put in a pocket.
