    A marvel of engineering

These brackets worked out great for me. The header for my blinds is 1.5", and the faux wood blind slats themselves are 2". To install, I had to remove the "valance" for the blinds, which is just a 2" wide face piece of faux wood that is clipped to the blinds header to cover a space between the header and first horizontal slat. So I had to read up on how to do that, and see if I could buy more clips, if I broke any (those can be ordered and are inexpensive). I removed the valance, breaking two of the clips. Since my blinds header measures 1.5", which is what the Nano brackets are for, the brackets fit with no problem, although they are a tad loose so will move. I will insert some shims later that don't show, to prevent that. I put the grommet drapes on the rod and hung them up. Took very little time. And then I saw that...oh my gosh. This really works. I arranged and spread out the drapes for appearance, and put the end grommet on each rod end OUTSIDE of the bracket, so that the end fabric folds toward the wall and covers the gaps on the sides of the window. IMO, grommet drapes are the perfect style of drape for these brackets. I open the drapes every day and have had no problems, although I'm careful not to pull on them hard. There are some things I noticed that I hadn't thought of before, though. Since the brackets are not above the window, the drape length measurement is a couple of inches shorter, so the drapes will look a little longer. Second, I think it looks nicer and the window looks taller if the drapes are hung above the window. But I think these look very nice for the time being. And since the grommet style of drape sticks up a couple of inches above the rod, that does add a little height to the window. Third, the gap between the header and the first horizontal blind will show when the drapes are open, since the valance is removed. The valance does give a more finished look. But those are minor things, compared with the invention of these brackets that solved my hardware issue. I think they look very nice. They were also easy as pie to install and the cost was reasonable.

Good alternative for hanging curtains in an apartment

*by R***L on Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2024*

I recently bought some of these to hang blackout curtains in my apartment since I didn't want to install traditional brackets. They work well enough and are easy to install. I was a little worried because one of the headrails wasn't perfectly level and I thought they might slip off, but I've had them up for about a month or so and they've stayed in place using the provided double-sided sticky strips. It's not a perfect substitute since they're necessarily lower than you would traditionally install brackets, but it works well enough to keep most of the light out in my rooms. It definitely helps to get curtains that can help cover the light from around the blind headrail.I did have to exchange a set because one of the pair was missing the decorative (?) screw part.
