The 16 inch chain that I had intended to use with my new 14k w/ diamonds pendant has a clasp that won't go through the pendant's loop. That's why I ordered this chain. It's a pretty chain and fits the pendant's loop. The ring clasp is not much bigger than the chain, but I was able to secure it without assistance. It seems strong enough. I am wearing it every day. I would recommend. Update: The chain broke after 8 months. It just fell off. Glad I noticed it and didn't loose my pendant
