I have several bits of kit I need to use "in the field" ranging from comms to laser range finding gear. It inevitably winds up getting damp or wet and frankly the expense of replacing the gear is exorbitant. Throwing a few of these sachets in each of the cases does a fair job of deterring moisture attacking the contacts and fouling the kit.They can be "recharged" (or dried out once more) by placing them in a lukewarm oven for about 20 minutes and I've even heard that you can use a microwave, but I haven't. It basically dries them back out to be used again.
