The material is smooth and stretchy but has a little bit of texture for good cleaning. They're plenty big but are stretchy so you don't have a lot of extra bag on the sides. I usually fold the top over and it works great. The lather the bags create is amazing and really makes it quick and easy to get enough soap. There's a long string to close the bag and a suction cup to attach it to a wall. I have a soap holder and don't use the suction cup so I removed it but I can see how it would be useful. The quality seems to be the best of any mesh bags I've found so I expect they'll be lasting a long time. 8 bags should last years as I don't see soap accumulating on them but I'm sure we'll swap them out after a while. It does eat through your soap much more quickly than holding the bar. There should be one separate suction cup instead of one tied to each bag.
