In any case, don't do as others here have suggested and crank up the the coffee quantity knob B8. This will lengthen the brew time and fill your cup with yellowish, bitter liquid. Instead, get it making a good double espresso by setting the grind nice and fine, the dose to about 18g of coffee (with strength knob B9), and the quantity to 60ml for double espresso. The amount of time water is flowing should be about 18-25 seconds. If it is too quick, make the grind finer or turn up the dose with the strength knob. Once you have good espresso, just use the hot water dispenser to turn it into americano. **Q: Is the Body or Casing stainless steel or aluminum mold or is it plastic ?? Thanks.** A: This is made up of mainly very rigid plastic. TIA** A: There is a way to increase the temperature, which for some reason isn't mentioned in the manual: With the machine in standby/off mode, press and hold the One cup button until the row of lights come on below. Some reviews say drinks aren’t hot enough. So I was a little hesitant as I like my coffee hot. Coffee from this machine is scalding hot so I’m not sure what people were doing wrong. Others have mentioned leakage. Well, it’s been a few weeks and no sign of that. I live in a very hard water area so a filter is essential. After just about 5 months. I contacted the delonghi support team via phone and after troubleshooting together, they confirmed the machine needs to be sent in for repair. Needless to say that giving up your fairly new coffee machine that cost a good amount of money for up to 20 business days (according to them) is not exactly thrilling. What is even less thrilling though is that I haven’t heard back from the support team for almost 10 days now after providing them with the initial requested information, despite following up a few times.
