    Just the job

Ask any scenic modeller and they'll tell you that ballasting track and points is a rotten time consuming job. However after laying 2kg of ballast using this powder added dry at 1:7 ratio and spread dry. I can honestly say I will NEVER use anything else again. Spread out, shape the edges and spray lightly with water... That's it... Job done.It's dry next day and can be removed with warm water applied.It honestly is BALLAST MAGIC!!

    Not as great as I originally thought

I did give this product 5 stars when I first got it - but I am now downgrading my assessment of this product.I have been using Ballast Magic for my new train modelling project.  It works great with ballast. It's also supposed to work with scatter - but in my experience over the last few days, it's performance with scatter (like grass, for example) is very inconsistent and not great.  I have been experimenting with different mixture ratios (the manufacturer says 1:7 is the optimum ratio).  Even a mixture of 1 part Ballast Magic to 1 part scatter doesn't achieve good adhesion all of the time.  Very frustrating for what is a very expensive product
