It comes in rectangular shape. Features two spare blades on side. Block profile with recessed grip area. The blades are made of high-carbon steel, therefore long-lasting and very sharp. Review: Very Pleased - For years I have used a trusty old Kum sharpener in the shape of a purple torpedo. It’s great, as it contains the shavings in one end. Eventually the blade dulled and then became more or less totally blunt. My plan was to take the blade from this one to revitalise my trusty torpedo. This fine, lightweight sharpener arrived promptly thanks to desertcart, but bafflingly in an A3 sized envelope. (Sort this out desertcart, please). Upon examination, it had two spare blades attached to it, like a limpet, in a groove on the side. I was able to use one of the spare blades to fix my old torpedo and now I have two fine Kum sharpeners and a spare blade to boot! Delighted. It looks like aluminum; blade is stainless steel.BTW, we have extremely strict quality and environmental standards and controls in Germany; far stricter than here. **Q: is this a single sharpener or 3-pack?** A: The single sharpener I bought (not the 2- or 3-pack) came with 2 spare blades attached to the side. **Q: Does this work for 2 mm pencil leads, or for standard sized graphite pencils with wood?** A: I use it for my Verithins,Marco Refines,and Polychromos colored pencils and it works very well. Hope this was of some help **Q: how long does one blade lasts? i would only use once or twice a week.** A: I have sharpened at least 160 new pencils and resharpened over 60 more with this sharpener.
