There is an opening for the hangers to poke through but the fabric around the opening is overlapping so it fits snugly right up against the hangers, preventing moths from getting inside the garment bag. On one side, there is an organza "window" so you can see what is inside the bag. I was worried that the window would let light in which would damage the fabric of my dresses (raw silk) but the bag sort of folds in at the sides so you don't see the window unless you intentionally pull the garment bag sides to do so. The bag holds up to three outfits and is nice and long so you can put a maxi dress(es) inside. It closes with buttons, not a zipper.
