No drilling at all, installation was a snap. I play at two different churches and it sounds great at both of them. Battery power so far has exceeded expectations. I charge it on Sunday morning. It's on for three hours between rehearsal and the service. We also rehearse on Wednesday evening. I don't charge up again but there's still plenty of juice left for a 90 minute session. I didn’t make any adjustments at all, just turned it on, turned on the receiver and plugged it into my amp and started playing. There was no delay in the pickup connecting to the receiver, and the sound is not delayed whatsoever - every bit equivalent to a high quality cable (except no cable!). I’ll be playing it out at open mics this week, and am super excited about that. With the combination of the humbucking magnetic pickup and the built in condenser microphone, this thing reproduces all the tonal nuances of my Martin D-35 without any modifications to my guitar. It’s super snug in the sound hole, and it’s pretty small as well as low profile. I think it’s perfect, and well worth the modest price.
