(thats why 4 out of 5) *by M***V on April 8, 2014* Long story short, I think is better to save the $200 and buy the DL3 and not the DL3N.I'm a senior dermatology resident, I have used before the DermLite DL100, DermLite II Pro and Hybrid M.I currently own a DL3 and DL3N.Obviously the light, lens quality image and view size against DermLite DL 100 is indescribably better on the DL3. While the DermLite II Pro and Hybrid gives an almost perfect illumination and image quality in my point of view the DL3 (normal and N) gave an even better resolution and light over the other two. If had it to put them on a light/image quality rank that would be:1) DL3, 2) II Pro 3) Hybrid M.If you want to do both contact-Non-polarized-light-dermoscopy and non-contact polarized light dermoscopy there is no room for hesitation and the DL3 is your best option (the difference with light and quality of the Hybrid is significant so you would be wasting money instead of saving a $300)However if do not intend to do both types of dermoscopy I rather recomend the Dermlite II-Pro because of its brighter led's.And finally, I needed 2 dermoscopes so I took a risk to buy both the DL3 and DL3N, however until now I guess I just trow out $200 with the DL3N as the pigment boost have no really use (at least not found by me or any of my colleges or attendance professors), also there's not evidence published in pubmed or embase to support its use.Oh, another difference between DL3 and DL3N is that the former has a couple more of led's from both (polarized and non-polarized) beacuse of the space the "pigment-boost" led's need, even tough the ones on the DL3 are more powerful so that they give better illumination to the skin (that is maybe the only reason worthwhile to buy the DL3N over the DL3.________________________Ps.
