Review: Excellent, Period... - It's sad to read bad product reviews from folks that simply haven't used the product long enough to learn how it works. That is probably easier to do, in the case of such simple devices, as padlocks, that Anybody would think require No instructions and that Everybody has used before, usually with no problems. I have two Abus locks now, a Granite traditional style padlock and one of the mid priced disc locks, and it was not too hard, to think they were both defective, especially the disc lock. The disc lock was my first one and I absolutely HATED that thing, at first... My first frozen morning outside trying to operate it in a hurry, ended with failure. Exactly like some reviews I had read before. I stomped back inside the house and swore I would return it asap. Fortunately, I went back and fiddled with it for 10 mins and learned much of what I needed. Besides learning how to insert the key fully each time, I had also chosen a lock with only an extra 2-3mm of opening space, to fit around my fat security cables. And the key and shackle, especially with disc locks, does not rotate well, IF the shackle meets any resistance, while moving. They work like a charm now 😁 That was also my first experience using these kind of keys and my second Abus lock, with same key type, also has the same problem, a non problem tho, for sure. The key can easily feel like it has bottomed out and is ready to turn, when it has just caught the edge of a wafer or something... Seems to happen 1-2 times on the way in sometimes... I'd guess that with time, the edges of the key cuts and the wafers will round off a tad and they will probably work much smoother. Just me guessing... And/Or perhaps the keys could also benefit from some time with a wire brush. I have noticed that other new keys from major players, have not seen a brush before at all, and these keys appear to be the same. I thought it was standard practice, to finish off, Any newly cut key, with some brush time... For example, I had 10 brand new keyed alike keys, from 5 new Paclocks, that barely worked at all and I could not get my RV unhitched for 20 minutes (🤬 to say the least). But after 5 secs each, on my wire brush wheel, and they were all good to go... So after getting comfortable holding the disc lock with the same hand every time and squeezing the cables together well with the other hand and then rotate the key somehow... I am VERY happy. And the Granite lock is fantastic too! Abus makes very very good stuff and they are now my first stop for locks...
Review: Very Secure lock. Pick proof and bump proof - This lock is a great design. Very well built and virtually pick proof. Heavy duty. I was Having vandels pic other pad locks and damaging property in my garage. Not now because I installed this Abus lock. Wish I would have known about this awesom lock years ago. I strongly recommend this pad lock to secure ones property.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: does the shackle completely come out of the padlock body?**
A: Yes, it does. Once the lock is opened with the key, the lock body will have no attachment to the body and will fall away if your not holding it.
I think it is a very nice feature of this lock. Bill

**Q: Will this work to lock up my electric breaker box panel?**
A: Check the diameter of the shackle. Mine is approximately a 1/2”.

**Q: My bet is that a commercial customer ordered several of these, all keyed the same, and then didn't buy them for some reason. We get the leftovers?**
A: Maybe, maybe not

**Q: Doesn't this mean everyone who orders this lock has a key for anyone else who ordered this lock? Why would I want that?**
A: Keyed alike choice if you order more than one.
Others will have different key

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This Lock Rocks!!
*by B***H on June 15, 2020*

I needed a lock for my warehouse door, it needs to be something that is built to last and impossible to pick. After doing much research on the internet, I decided to go with the Abus Granit lock. I bought this lock from Amazon Warehouse at an amazing price. The item was sold as opened box but it looks almost brand new to me. One mistake that I made before I bought this lock was that I didn't pay attention to the lock's 'height' clearance. This Abus 37/60 lock only has 5/8" whereas my warehouse door hasp needed 3/4" clearance. I decided to return this lock and bought the Abus 37/80 with 13/16" clearance instead. This lock is unlike anything I owned before. The shackle has a diameter of 7/16" and can be removed completely, so it is important that you make sure the shackle will fit into your door hasp. You could literally tell this is a good quality lock just by holding it in your hand. Definitely a great buy except it was the wrong size.
