So I had a different thunderbolt dock thing for my macbook that I'd had for several years. It occupied two thunderbolt ports and had a bunch of ports I didn't need. I woke up one morning and one monitor was mostly magenta. After swapping out cables and shuffling things around and flipping through the other inputs with my HDMI matrix, even from my linux box, it was clear that it was the dock at fault. I tried a couple of very expensive options from local big box retailers that ultimately did not work (one was probably a resolution issue, the other required I install drivers and give the drivers permission for stuff and my company's IT security guy probably would not have been very happy because mystery Made In China device. probably harmless but not willing to take the L). I had tried to get a replacement locally because I didn't want to be handicapped with only one monitor until a replacement arrived, but I ended up ordering this product and waiting. I opened the box, plugged it in, and it worked. I didn't need to restart, I didn't have to install drivers, it doesn't have to have its own power supply or need to piggyback off the macbook's power cable being plugged into the dock. It only uses u one thunderbolt port (likely because it doesn't have a bunch of extra ports I don't need that it may need the bandwidth for). It only has the two HDMI ports, which is all I really wanted, so I'm not paying for extra stuff I don't need. I can't remember the last time I was so pleased with an amazon purchase. I cannot guarantee this product will be compatible with your computer, mine is a 13" 2020 intel chip and if you're just looking to run your macbook in clamshell mode (possibly because your touchbar thing is freaking out and strobbing at full brightness like it's jamming to Alice Deejay) with dual displays, this product would be an excellent choice.

This adapter allows you to seamlessly extend dual monitors and the USB-C port connects to PC AND mac mini m4!!! I've tried 10 other adapters to get this quality setup and THIS is the only one that works flawlessly!

Works amazing, I'm using this for a 4K 60hz 32inch monitor and a 24inch 1080p60hz monitor, the adapter it's self gets a little hot during operation, but it's fine. I've worked 14 hours straight at the office and zero issues. No cut out, or random disconnects. I've been using star tech adapters for years, and once again they knocked it out of the park with their top notch quality.

After researching several adapters to extend my MacBook Pro to my 2 external HDMI monitors, this one actually works! To extend rather than mirror to multiple monitors, you need an adapter that supports Multi-Stream Transport (MST). A lot of the less expensive adapters support mirroring only or single stream transport (SST) on Mac. Pay attention to what you set this on. It gets warm. I’ve only been using this a few weeks so I can’t speak to longevity yet.

This unit works well and gives me two screens in addition to the laptop screen. Quality is great and it is plug play.

TB32HD24K60 would be a beautiful dual 4k60Hz HDMI solution for MacBookPro16,1 (16-inch, 2019) running Big Sur 11.5, but the Thunderbolt 3 adapter doesn't actually drive 60Hz on all Samsung displays. Tested with Ultra High Speed 8K@60Hz HDMI cables on Samsung UN55HU7200F and UN55RU7300FXZA. Worked closely with StarTech and Samsung's patient and creative debugging support teams to no avail. A pair of Apple's USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapters work fine at 60Hz with the same displays and cables, but StarTech caps at 30Hz on the 7300 even with just one display connected. It would be nice to know what chipset StarTech is using, but their support team didn't know. Frustrating failure.

I really like StarTech stuff overall, they have a great lineup of converters and cables that I haven’t been able to find elsewhere. I’m primarily using this to be able to attach 2 additional monitors to my iMac. I plugged it in and away I went without any drivers or other installs. I do notice where from time to time the monitors will briefly turn off/go to sleep. They come right back so it’s not a huge deal, but it is annoying.

I have been looking for a while at how to create a duo independant display setup to use with my macbook air 2018 (OS Catalina). I also have 2 Hanns-G 24" screens. Just plug in play around with your screen arrangement, no need to download any drivers either. Works perfectly. No lag between the screens either. I just have to say thank you to the tech people at StarTech.com who guided me through through to which product would be suitable. The price was pretty amazing too. Got it on here for £87.30 RRP £165.59. StarTech website doesnt do it that cheap, but the tech people are amazing.

then it crashes and it slows down the machine to much to be worth the hassle. I've abandoned it and gone back to simply 1 extra monitor. MacBook Air M2, 2022
