Review: Simple innovation in a Moka pot with unclear benefits - I bought this as part of a series of experiments to optimise my morning moka espresso. The pot is high quality, an attractive colour and the centre section does move the taste of the coffee in a good direction. The centre section is also optional. You can remove it and treat it like a normal Moka pot if you wish. In my set up I struggled a little to stop it boiling over even if left on the hob just a few seconds too long. The coffee taste is definitely better than many of my other experiments however. However, not as good as real espresso extracted at high pressure.
Review: Yum - When I opened the box I was thrilled, then dismayed. The only instructions were a small pamphlet written entirely in Chinese. I do not read Chinese. After a quick search on the manufacturer's website I knew enough to give it a try. In addition, I used advice from a review here. Did not fill above the little line inside the base pot. Made sure all the parts were secured firmly. It was so fast, maybe 2 minutes max, and the bottom was empty while the top pot was full. I took it off the heat once the coffee was made as the bottom piece then no longer had any water in it. The espresso was delicious. Just enough for 2 tiny cups. Made a second pot without any issues. I loved the temperature management as I could drink it right away. It seems sturdy as well, so I will keep using it for what I hope is a long time.

I bought this as part of a series of experiments to optimise my morning moka espresso. The pot is high quality, an attractive colour and the centre section does move the taste of the coffee in a good direction. The centre section is also optional.
