The instructions are clear and easy to follow, create an amazing fairy in next to no time. I chose to make the neck shorter and to sew on the eyes and mouth as the fairy was for a child so it does look different to the ones in the book. I did this so I would not have to add anything in the neck to keep it firm. She is well loved and has been named the Blue Fairy as she is dressed in blue and has a mix of blue, lilac and pink hair. Mix and match the dresses to suit what you want your fairy to look like and you will have plenty of fairies to make besides those in the book.If you enjoy making dolls or other knitted toys then have a go at making your own magical fairy you will be amazed at how easy it is. Even the wings are easy to make anad I thought they would be the hardest part. They are simple to make and easily adaptable to your own wool colours and choice and even to your own designs. I am an average knitter but have found the projects fun and easy. The only more difficult part is getting the faces right (have had a few voodoo doll look-a-like near misses !) but getting there with practice.The illustrations are good and inspirational. I would recommend this book for making the fairies as gifts or to keep. They are not at all twee and would appeal to all ages, depending on your approach.
