I inadvertantly filed a little too much off the sight base, but an uluminum shim fixed it up fine and tight. Indoors at night with only four 4watt nightlights, the sights are no advantage over stock white dot (NON tritium). What I've done is purchased an inexpensive Dorcy 9 LED 3AAA size Angle Head Flashlight ($6) and velcro'd it to the left side grip and high enough up where the flashlight makes the hi-vis dot glow like a trafficlight, while still letting me have a regular grip on the gun. My concern is how repeated draw & reholstering for my IDPA competion is gonna bang up the less than streamlined sight...time will tell. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Putting Factory Sight Back On *by G***N on Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2011* When I first bought my Ruger SR9, I took it to my local indoor range. I fell in love with the gun and thought I could improve the already good sighting by putting this green HiViz front sight on. Not so much... It actually was hard to see the green dot in the indoor range. Which concerns me if I had to grab the gun at night for self defense. It does seem to glow nicely though in normal light. The sight is also about twice the size of the factory sight and snags a little in my holster. My gunsmith who installed it said he would put my factory sight back on for no charge (which is nice of him). It's your choice, but I was a little dissapointed. Dang! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bright under light, not a night sight *by R***T on Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2012* Even though this is a good sight and is very visible under moderate lighting conditions, it is NOT a night sight. Should you be considering your weapon for home defense, keep in mind you will not be able to see it in a darkened room.
