Review: Excellent bass for the price - Great bass period. Pre strung with decent strings, comes with a strap that i'm still using. Cord also! And a pick if you like to play bass with one (i personally don't even play guitar with a pick much) Don't love the amplifier but that's ok. It will get you playing the same day, you want a bigger one later and depending which one you go with it will sound better. That being said. This kit will get you up and running immediately, it sounds great and feels great. Ultralight, lighter than my guitars. Put a little work into it and it may end up being one of your favorite instruments. I did a few things with mine but mostly string and knob changes. Pickups are perfect, nothing needs any major changes. No regrets at all on this kit, grab one for sure if you want a good 4 string on the cheap Hope this helped!
Review: Excellent looking, functional bass -- and beautiful too! - I bought this because I liked the blue/green color, the white perloid pickguard, and the white inlays on the fretboard. I also liked the symmetrical body shape, and the fact that the pickups are Precision/Jazz (PJ). The only ingredient missing is that it's not short scale like I prefer. But I can tolerate that. It sounds decent enough, and one thing that really suprised me is that the entire package that came is so small and light. The accessories -- the amp, gig bag, strap, and power cord, are all rather inexpensive and cheap feeling, but what do you expect for $100? I didn't buy the bass for these add-ons, so their cheap feel didn't affect my rating. The gig bag fits the bass, unlike the Glarry short scale bass I also purchased and made into a piccolo bass. I needed to adjust the intonation and like many basses I own, the bass has a lot of fret buzz on the Low #'s F, F#, and G on the first, second, and third frets. But this buzz doesn't come through the amp, fortunately. I will probably play with the action and saddle height to see if I can get rid of the buzz, but I am still happy with the bass overall, particularly for the price I paid. By the way, I am a former semi-pro bass player who gigged regularly until Covid hit. I also build instruments. Through my building, I learned how "similar" cheap and expensive basses and guitars are. I believe there is a lot of hype about brands, and I am happy to use low-end basses for recording and also performing live for paying customers. The major difference is in the sound of the pickups and how well the instrument plays due to its setup. Another thing to consider is hum -- this bass does have hum like all other single coil pickups. If you want to get rid of it, you would have to replace the pickups with humbuckers and sheild the bass. Overall, a nice addition to my growing collection of basses, and one that I love to just look at as it hangs on the wall of my music room.

Great bass period. Pre strung with decent strings, comes with a strap that i'm still using. Cord also! And a pick if you like to play bass with one (i personally don't even play guitar with a pick much) Don't love the amplifier but that's ok. It will get you playing the same day, you want a bigger one later and depending which one you go with it will sound better. That being said. This kit will get you up and running immediately, it sounds great and feels great. Ultralight, lighter than my guitars. Put a little work into it and it may end up being one of your favorite instruments. I did a few things with mine but mostly string and knob changes. Pickups are perfect, nothing needs any major changes. No regrets at all on this kit, grab one for sure if you want a good 4 string on the cheap Hope this helped!

I bought this because I liked the blue/green color, the white perloid pickguard, and the white inlays on the fretboard. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Surprisingly great sound and refreshing customer support.

Having to completely redo my review after my interaction with ktaxon customer service, which was extremely positive. Taking it from the top, I bought this bass mostly for the small amp, which fits perfectly in my cube shelf after removing the corner protectors, and its exactly what youd expect from the size. It would make a good first amp, and it makes a great practice amp for me when I dont want to set up my primary. As for the bass, its comfortable, it sounds great, and the setup is typical for the price range, which is that you need to get one done or do it before playing. Now, as for my problem, the strap button pulled straight out of the body under normal use, which is something Ive run into on cheaper guitars as well. It boils down to the screws just being fundamentally too small, and while fixable, isnt something I'd normally recommend for a beginner because a strap is super necessary on the bass. Heres where I have to say, Ktaxon absolutely stepped up. They reached out to discuss the issue and looked into it, offering a resolution for me and I feel strongly the issue will be addressed in the future. More than that, I think Ktaxon stands behind their products, and being that I've bought other products from them with no issues, I can say this would make a good starter bass and that I do recommend it.
